"I've officially lost 70lbs! Thought it was about time that I posted a before and after photo. Feeling pretty chuffed with myself right now, it's taken quite a long time but I'm now a healthy and happy 133lbs, down from 203lbs+ (I didn't have working scales when I first started out so I was possibly heavier) It's amazing what a little bit of exercise and healthy eating can do for you.:DSource

Melanie: "My Healthy Life"
"6 months gone and 60 lbs lost. I avoid looking at old pictures of myself so that I can focus on the future, but spending time picking a picture for this before and after made me really emotional. I’m sitting here crying over the keyboard because sometimes I can’t believe I’ve actually made this happen for myself. Hard work, focus, dedication, and support from people around you are all it takes in order to completely change your life around. I’m not quite done with my journey yet, still have a few more months to go, but I am confident that I can do it now and can’t wait to see the finished product. Love your life, love yourself, and anything is possible."Source

I do a ton of cardio (jogging/running/walking/stairmaster/elliptical) but weight training is super important as well and thats something I am working on myself. I dont enjoy it as much as I do cardio but I’m learning new ways to enjoy it and its so important to gain lean muscle (muscles burns more than fat) because this is what will ultimately make you look and feel goooooood..."

Right: Today! April 18, 2012 - 206.6 OFFICIALLY 100 POUNDS LOST
I used to hate exercise and view it as some type of punishment, which made switching into my healthy lifestyle challenging. Once I found exercise options I enjoyed everything changed. I go to the gym between 4-6 times a week and vary my activities. I love taking Zumba, XBike, and Bootcamp classes. If I am not joining in a class I typically just try and do my own thing. Usually I spend 30 mins on a treadmill at 3.0 followed by 20 mins on whichever machine I fancy that day and then some strength training.

Nicole: Dedicated to Living
Starting weight: 160 lbs, current weight: 111 lbs
"This is the first time I’ve ever really compared my new body to my old body. The process was so gradual that I never really had a sudden “BAM! I feel so different and skinny and healthy!” moment. I know it sounds weird, but I still feel like I’m walking around in my old body. It’s amazing to see that big changes really did take place. I’m so proud of myself :3 Motivation to keep up the hard work!Source
Remember guys, things don’t happen overnight. I know it can be frustrating, especially if you’re super impatient like I am, but stick with it and you won’t be sorry. <3"

Jazmine: A Long and Steady Process
"It’s been a long, slow, steady process but I’m getting there. I am in my last 10ish pounds I have to lose. It’s crazy to look at me at my heaviest in the summer of 2009 and then now. For someone who is 5’2 it’s obvious 175 pounds does not fit my frame nicely. I never want to be 120 or lower because I like my curves and believe girls should have curves and be toned not be stick skinny. My breasts have gone down a cup in a half and I don’t want to lose them! My goal is 127-130 pounds :)"Source

"I am 31 years old, and was at my heaviest after I had my son in 2010. I weighed about 295 post delivery. I'm now at about 217---still a ways to go, but getting there! I am 5'8".Source
I am a certified Zumba instructor and I workout about 1 to 2 hours everyday. My blood pressure is down to 100/60 and my resting heart rate is 60 bpm. YAY!! I still have a ways to go, but it feels good!!!"

Aleex: One Year, 50 Lbs Lost
Before:
After:
"Last year I was 185lb, unhappy & unhealthy when I joined MFP and decided to make a change. I was completely lacking in confidence, didn't believe I was pretty enough for anyone and constantly snacked on food which my body just did not need. I had no idea about the poor nutritional content of much of the foodI was consuming.Source
It has not just been a change in the way I eat and my nutrition, but also in my exercise and also my lifestyle. I would NEVER in a million years choose to go back to my old eating habits. I now have more energy, more confidence and feel so much better about myself.
It has taken me ~a year but I am now 135lb. Today I completed a half-marathon in 2 hours 10 minutes (in very bad weather conditions, I believe I could have done it in 2 hours had they not been so bad) and I could not be more proud of myself! :)"

Amy: 54lbs Gone!
"A lot of people are asking me what my secret has been to weight loss... no secret! I use MFP (and yes i eat my exercise calories!). When I have hit plateaus i found that I needed to up my calories as I've got closer to my goal (currently set to .5lb/week). I started this journey with only walking for exercise. I now enjoy Jillian dvds and running (C25K graduate!). I have many days where I indulge in treats, this journey is not to deprive myself. :) Hope that helps!"Source

Currently sitting at about 183 after dropping 154 lbs. I think I want to drop 3 more then add 10-15 followed by a small cut. Hopefully end up at about 190 w/ 9% body fat."

bdur76: "It's Not that Easy, but It's Not that Hard Either!"
"So I've been promising this to my friends on my feed, and since today after my run I finally saw my goal weight of 190lbs on the scale, I decided it was time to post some before and after photos!Source
When I first started I was incredibly out of shape. 360 pounds, with no exercise and what felt at most times as no hope of ever improving. The one day I started walking. First two miles a day, then I started watching my calorie count with MFP. I consistently increased my exercise as my body adapted. To the point that I now strength train three times a week, run about 14 miles per week, and use the exercise bike at the gym for an hour a week."

GrizzFoShiz: 151Lbs Off!
"I started my weight loss journey about a year ago. After multiple previous failed attempts to lose weight, I decided to give it another go since I was tired of being as big as I was: 19 years old and 329lbs. Let's just say that I was never educated on proper nutrition as a child. Well now, after much hard work, I've lost about 150lbs. I'm loving it, too! I could have never done this without the support of MFP and I am thankful that such a site/app exists. I have more energy, can fit into just about any clothes I find, and I have had a major boost in the self confidence department.Source
Throughout the journey, I've changed my diet a lot. I'm actually quite happy about it, too! If I wouldn't have made this life-altering decision, then I would have never known all of the "healthy" food that's actually quite delicious. I've actually found many new favorites, which is saying a lot. Before, it was all fried and fast foods. Those are okay in moderation now, but damn, nothing beats the taste of an awesome organic gyro.
I currently weight 178lbs. My bmi went from 41.67 to 22.55. Here's a before and after pic. I went from a size 3XL shirt and 44x32 pants to a M shirt and 31x32 pants.
As I continue my new lifestyle, I'd just like everyone to know that the work is hard, but success is possible. I doubted myself many times, but I learned that if you keep on pushing, everything pays off in the end."

rainbobrite92: 7 Months and 118 Lbs Gone
"So I’ve been at this “changing my lifestyle” thing for almost 7 months now (since October 12, 2011). I’m down 118 pounds (from 389.9lbs to 272 lbs) in that time. I’ve gone from not really fitting into a 4x (size 32 to 34) shirt to ALMOST fitting into a size 2x (size 20). The shirt was tights but I think I look a little better than I did seven months ago. I’ve put a lot of work into the past 7 months and I’m proud of myself!"Source

Kristy: 50 Lbs So Far!
"About a year ago, I started this journey. Well, let's be honest, I have started and stopped for years now. But last year, I became the most serious I have ever been. That doesn't mean I haven't had stumbles along the way, but it is the first time in my life that I have kept going.Source
I've been struggling the past month or so, and just in time, my facebook friends gave me the encouragement I needed. See, I posted the picture on the right last week after a fishing trip. Honestly, I was proud of my fish. Ok, I was proud of the fact I actually caught one. Not the size of the fish. Who am I kidding? That is bait! But that is not what anyone else saw. They saw that I have changed. My body isn't the same that it used to be. I have some serious body image issues (when I was thin I thought I was a whale and didn't even know I used to be thin until I had gained 90 pounds and saw a picture of myself before), but there is no denying that even though I still feel like I look like the girl on the left, I am undeniably physically different. I am 25 pounds from my goal weight, which will put me at a "healthy" BMI for the first time in 10 years. But more than a goal "weight", I have realized that what really matters is a healthy, fit body.
This new year, I kicked it into high gear with running and then started a boot camp class. Before, I had never ran more than probably a quarter of a mile and was scared to death to take a boot camp class. On February 6th, I ran a mile without stopping for the first time in my entire life. In March, I ran 2 5k's and I am signed up for my first mud run a week from tomorrow. I can climb hills without giving it a second thought. I can wrap a regular towel around me. I can cross my legs like a lady. I bought shorts last month for the first time in years. I could go on and on about what I have accomplished, but I want you to get the point of why I posted this: You can do this. And if you are in the middle of your journey and are feeling a little discouraged, remember that "The reason people give up is because they look at how far they have to go, not at how far they have come."
Keep going! You've got this. Don't give up on yourself. You've probably come a lot farther than you think. I know I have."

Hamibh: Running to Health
"For those who want to know, here's what I did/do:Source
I have lost around 60lb since April 2011 (236lb - 176lb)
I have used, in the following order:
Couch to 5K (podcast courtesy of the NHS website)
EA Sports Active 2 (PlayStation 3)
P90X
I participate in various running events to punctuate my progress (5K, 10K, Half Marathon).
I am particularly fond of baked potatoes, which provide a satisfying lunch or dinner while being very reasonable calorie-wise. Just stick it in the microwave for 15 minutes and it's done. You can leave out the butter, but in reality it doesn't make that much of a difference.
I have a Nike+ GPS SportWatch with heart rate monitor. This allows me to track running distance, see my routes mapped out and tracked online, and it can track calorie burn for cardio workouts other than running. Expensive, but money well spent since it lets me focus on simply getting the numbers right.
For what it's worth, I'm a fan of the Running Trax albums by Ministry of Sound. They are full of naff upbeat dance music that's perfect for running to, and each CD comes with a workout mix of lasting around 1 hour 20 minutes. Great for keeping up the momentum during a workout."
